World Vision Responds to Washington State Floods

In the wake of January's flooding throughout Washington, World Vision is sending emergency supplies to the flood-damaged areas like Morton, Centralia and Glenoma.

Dozens of pallets of personal care and cleaning supplies are being sent to help with the ongoing clean-up effort. The items will be distributed by local World Vision community partners that have established long-term recovery and distribution centers.

The early January rain storm, combined with melting snow pack, swelled rivers and brought flooding to dozens of communities. Thousands were forced from their homes as floodwaters rose. While damage assessments are ongoing, Gov. Christine Gregoire said preliminary assessments estimate $125 million in damage to roads and state property alone.
