WWE Latest News: John Cena gives updates on his hiatus, Brock Lesnar added to January episode of Monday Night Raw

Former World Wrestling Entertainment champion John Cena gave an update on his indefinite hiatus, while superstar Brock Lesnar has been added to a January 2016 episode of Monday Night RAW.

Cena is currently on an indefinite leave of absence from the WWE as he films a military-centered reality show for FOX Entertainment entitled "American Grit", where he will be the program's host. But during his recent interview with Zap2It.com, Cena explained why he opted to take the time off from professional wrestling and film the television show, instead.

"From a company perspective, as you know I hold it very near and dear to my heart, the dance floor is open, boys," Cena said. "I'm gone, let's see who steps up. And I like that. As much as I want to try to distance myself or as much as someone who views me would try to distance myself from WWE, I'm never going to go."

The 38-year old sports entertainment icon added that given the years he spent in the professional wrestling circuit, there is nothing more left for him to prove, but also noted that he wants to hold on to his status as a top-tier entertainer.

"Personally, and this gives me a better perspective on Dwayne Johnson's path, you get to a certain point and you cannot attract any more fans, he says," Cena added. "Essentially, my productivity from a company standpoint … I've done as much as I can — 15 world championships and a myriad of other accomplishments. I don't know what left I can do, but I still want to be able to put people in the building."

Heavyweight superstar and former UFC champion Brock Lesnar also made the news, as it has been confirmed that he will be part of a January 2016 episode of Monday Night RAW.

According to a report by Cageside Seats, Lesnar will be appearing on the January 11th episode of RAW in New Orleans.

There also have been rumors about Lesnar's possibly facing The Rock at WrestleMania 32 in April, but WWE officials have made no confirmation.
