WWE News and Updates 2016: Paul Heyman, Promo Engine Highlight WWE 2K17 MyCareer Mode

2K Sports had been on a roll this year. NBA 2K17 came out this month and reaped positive review across the board, with pundits seeing it as a revolutionary title.

The game developer is expected to follow through with their latest professional wrestling game, WWE 2K17. This year, 2K takes the game to a whole new level of realism, providing the look and feel of the goings-on inside and outside the ring.

One of the best aspects of the game so far in the early stages is a more advanced MyCareer feature. The mode allows players to create their own wrestlers and will them through various points of a WWE superstar's career.

A welcome addition for the game mode would be the option to skip NXT. Some players might not want to grind through the company's real-life developmental promotion—stars like AJ Styles did not need to go through NXT, though he has years of independent ring experience backing him up.

2K gets that notion, but a Forbes review predicts more difficult challenges ahead if a player chooses to skip to the main roster. One of those challenges would be the option to either face or align Brock Lesnar. The deciding factor? Paul Heyman.

As an added character, Heyman could be the created wrestler's advocate, distracting opponents at ringside. The veteran manager and his client, Lesnar, can also be the player's worst nightmare.

WWE 2K17's Creation Suite also gets a lot of improvements, with options to build new move sets, arenas, shows and even a championship. As for existing superstars, Christian Post had earlier reported enhancements in terms of face and body details, as well as backstage brawls.

There is a new Promo Engine in the game. The feature enables wrestlers to decide what to say in interviews and segments, which will either get them over the crowd as a face or establish them as a boo-worthy heel. The mode gives players limited time to decide what to say, choosing from a variety of lines that could also boost the players' in-game bank accounts.

There are still a lot of improvements to be made for the game, but fans would have to see for themselves. WWE 2K17 will be available for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on October 11, 2016.
