WWE News: Numbers On The Rock's RAW Appearance Released; New Japan's Shinsuke Nakamura Headed For WWE?

The numbers for last week's episode of Monday Night RAW are in.

The said episode aired the day after Royal Rumble 2016 and it was also The Rock's first appearance of the year on Monday Night RAW. In various reports from Cageside Seats, the numbers on social media and the actual viewership on the said night have increased.

In the first report by Sean Rueter, the World Wrestling Entertainment's social media numbers have experienced significant increases. The Rock's apperance on RAW this past Monday helped build up the number of notable Twitter accounts who were talking about the episode, from 1.27 million recorded on January 18th to 1.824 million on the same night.

As far as tweets about the show go, the number increased by 68%, from the previous week's 8.537 million to 14.343 million on the said night.

According to another report by Gene Mrosko, the episode's viewership saw a big leap, from the previous week's 3.48 million to Monday night's 4.09 million. The report adds that it was also the first time RAW averaged 4 million viewers throughout the entire three-hour duration of the show. In the first hour, the show was able to garner 4.14 million viewers, 4.18 million in the second hour, and 3.97 million in the third hour.

The Rock's appearance on the said show lasted a mere total of 25 minutes.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) standout Shinsuke Nakamura has been officially signed to WWE NXT.

An initial report by Cageside Seats on Monday, Jan. 25, confirmed that Nakamura had already left NJPW, and was already about to undergo his final medical testing procedures and orientation with the WWE.

On Wednesday, WWE.com confirmed the news that Nakamura is indeed the newest addition to its roster.

"At Wednesday night's NXT taping at Full Sail University in Orlando, Fla., a video announcing the arrival of the Japanese standout at TakeOver: Dallas, which takes place during WrestleMania 32 Week, played for the live crowd, sending shockwaves through the arena and, moments later, the social media world," an excerpt of the report reads.
