'X-Men Apocalypse' Cast Rumors, News: Director Bryan Singer Seeking Actors to Play Young Jean Grey and Cyclops
20th Century Fox will be re-casting iconic characters like Storm, Jean Grey, and Cyclops in the upcoming superhero adventure "X-Men: Apocalypse," according to reports.
The film will take place in the 1980s and its director, Bryan Singer needs to cast new actors to play the younger versions of the mentioned superheroes, MovieWeb.com reported. Recent rumors now indicate that the helmer might just have found the right faces to portray the powerful mutants in the film.
Chloe Moretz, Elle Fanning, and Hailee Steinfeld are "among the leading ladies being eyed to play the young Jean Grey." Meanwhile, Ben Hardy, Charlie Rowe, and Timothee Chalamet are also being considered to play as Scott Summers/Cyclops.
Sources for the publication claim that although the official test offers have not been rolled out to any actors yet, Moretz and Fanning, have already met with Singer to "discuss the role over the past few weeks."
Despite the mentioned names, there's still "plenty of others that are under consideration" for the role. Whoever is chosen to be the young Jean Grey is "expected to recur in future X-Men films," the insider added.
