'X-Men Apocalypse' Cast Rumors, News: Cyclops, Jean Grey and Storm Roles Taken Over By Young Actors

New developments for the upcoming sequel of Marvel's mutant series "X-Men: Apocalypse" surfaced earlier this week to reveal three more names of young actors eyed to suit up as Cyclops, Jean, and Storm.

A report from Cinema Blend stated that Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters will be introducing the familiar mutant students in their younger age. Young Cyclops will be played by Taron Egerton ("Kingsman: The Secret Service"), Jamie Blackley ("If I Stay") or Tye Sheridan ("Mud").

For the telephatic and telekinetic superheroine, the names revealed are Sophie Turner ("Game of Thrones") and Saoirse Ronan ("The Lovely Boones"). And as for the weather-controlling Ororo Munroe, Alexandra Shipp (Aaliyah: Lifetime Biopic) and Zendaya Coleman ("Shake it Up!") are the mentioned contenders.

These given details are completely different from what the previous rumors say in the last few months. It was previously indicated that Chloe Grace Moretz, Elle Fanning or Hailee Steinfeld could be playing the part of Jean Grey.

Meanwhile, the names Ben Hardy, Charlie Rowe, and Timothee Chalamet were primary picks for Cyclops. Kat Graham, on the other hand, was rooted for the role of Storm.

With the rapid casting changes, it appears that production for "X-Men: Apocalypse" could already be moving forward. Earlier reports from several websites, including that from Deadline, pointed out that James McAvoy's Professor X, Michael Fassbender's Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique, and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine will once again return for the upcoming title.

Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" is slated to open in theaters May 27, 2016.
