'X-Men: Apocalypse' Release Date, Cast News: Lana Condor to Play Jubilee, Channing Tatum to Cameo as Gambit

Fox's upcoming big screen offering "X-Men: Apocalypse" from the hit X-Men franchise has been touted to be even bigger than its last installment, "X-Men: Days of Future Past."

To better serve the goal, earlier reports indicated a slew of newcomers who will play the younger versions of the original trilogy players like Jean Grey (who will now be taken over by GoT's Sophie Turner), Storm (by Alexandra Shipp), and Cyclops (by Tue Sheridan).

Then just yesterday, director Bryan Singer posted on social media to post yet another newcomer, Lana Condor, who will play as Jubilee, otherwise known as Jubilation Lee.

Played previously by Kea Wong and Katrina Florence across the three original X-Men movies, the mutant youngster once had the ability to project pyrotechnic energy plasmoids and evade detection. She was later depowered in the "New Warriors" comic series where she now possesses the powers and abilities of a vampire.

It should be confirmed later on as to which powers and abilities will Jubilee harnesses in the Singer-helmed film.

Meanwhile, earlier casting reports from Latino Review also indicated that one major character to be played by equally famous actor will be coming over in "Apocalypse" alongside the franchise's mainstays.

The Instagram post pointed out that Apocalypse will begin principal photography in Montreal this April 28 to which cameos by Hugh Jackman's Wolverine and Hallie Berry's Storm are to be expected.

Then there's "Haywire" actor Channing Tatum who will debut as Gambit, the publication wrote.

Tatum has previously expressed excitement in suiting up as the card-slinging mutant to which he considers as someone close to his heart.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" is slated to hit the theatres this May 27, 2016.
