Xbox News: Xbox Gold Members Can Enjoy Four New Free Games in February

The fun never stops for Xbox Gold members as they can receive a total of four new free games this month. According to Major Nelson, these games are "Hand of Fate," "Styx: Master of Shadows," "Sacred Citadel," and "Gears of War 2."

"Hand of Fate"

With this action-packed role-playing game consisting of rogue-like and deck-building elements, a player assumes the role of a nameless hero. He then comes face to face with a strange Dealer in a cabin "at the end of the world." During the game, the Dealer tells of the player's saga, deals the cards of the game, announces the rewards or penalties the player gets, and lore. The Dealer is also the main antagonist of the game.

"Styx: Master of Shadows"

"Styx: Master of Shadows" is a game that will put a player's stealth into test. A player must keep himself to the shadows in order to survive the game. Styx is gifted with abilities that will help him in his adventures, such as being invisible, detecting hidden enemies and their locations through his amber vision, and cloning himself, which can interrupt the conventional stealth-gaming formula. Additionally, the cloning ability allows the player to scout without jeopardizing himself.

"Sacred Citadel"

This game serves as a prequel to the 2014 game "Sacred 3." It is a side-scrolling action brawler game and is part of the "Sacred" series of games.

"Gears of War 2"

This third-person shooter video game involves military science fiction. In this game, the COG carries on fighting the Locust horde, who are bent on sinking all of the fictional planet Sera's cities. With Sgt. Marcus Fenix leading, it is the goal of the Delta Squad to prevent the horde from successfully carrying out their planned assault on the Locust turf.

Games with Gold is relatively new for Xbox Live Gold subscribers. Initially, the service only functioned as an online access for members to be connected to Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, but its creator---Microsoft- --has just elevated its function by enabling it to give away free games for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One owners every month.

According to Attack of the Fanboy, now that Xbox One has a compatibility feature, all of the games bearing the "Gold" titles can be played on it. Hence, all the games primarily meant to be played on Xbox 360 can now be played on Xbox One, thanks to its emulator.

The official website of Xbox has said that, with Xbox One Backward Compatibility, a gamer can multi-play with friends regardless of what console they're using, and with the new free games they offer every month, gamers can always look forward to having a new one to play with.
