Xbox One vs. Playstation 4 Sales Review: Consoles Sell More Than Predecessors, Bundles Rank High in Black Friday 2014 Sale Offers

It's already been a year since the release of the next-gen consoles, the Xbox One and the Playstation 4, and retailer GameStop reports that both consoles have significantly outsold its previous-gen predecessors, the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 over the same time period.

The retailer reports that since both console's release on November of 2013, the install base of those consoles in the U.S. is 73 percent greater than the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 base over the same year.

Next-gen console sales are certainly booming for GameStop as it reports a sales rise in the category by 147.4-percent. However, software sales for the next-gen consoles fell by 34.4-percent and GameStop claims this is due to the late release of AAA games last year such as "GTA V," "Batman: Arkham Origins," "Pokemon X/Y," and "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag."

Even as its sales dropped, the retailer still corners 47.3-percent of the software marketshare.

In the meantime, next-gen console sales are rated among the top five Black Friday sales deals. Coming out in number one is the Sony PS4 bundles at $399.99 inclusive of the console and two games. One of the bundles include "Grand Theft Auto 5" and a digital download voucher for "The Last of Us: Remastered."

The other bundle includes the console and "LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham" and "LittleBigPlanet 3."

At second place is the Xbox One bundle. The bundle includes the console, and digital downloads for "Assassin's Creed Unity" and "Assassin's Creed Black Flag." The bundle is priced at $329.99 and includes a $50 gift card. The bundle is currently available only on Target.
