Xbox Recon Tech Special Edition Revealed

Microsoft's Xbox is pushing the envelope once more as it introduces another product to augment the sense of aesthetics in the way players use their consoles. The company understands that a controller is a gamer's gateway to the gaming world, and is now unveiling the Tech Series in Xbox wireless controllers, starting with the Recon Tech Special Edition.

Global Product Marketing manager Bree White said that the tech series takes inspiration from both military and science fiction influences, thus the new wireless controller is embellished with varying accents and textures. To add a sense of control and comfort, the back portion of the controller is covered with a rubberized grip, further providing both a chic look and feel.

Similar to other wireless controllers, the device is compatible with both Xbox One and Xbox One S consoles. It can also be programmed to work with other Windows devices for gaming, adding to the flexibility of how one can use the controller. Moreover, the Bluetooth technology opens up more possibility for its use.

This is not the only specially made controller made available to Xbox fans. Back on Feb. 7, the Ocean Shadow Special Edition and Winter Forces Special Edition were introduced. Even prior to that, slightly less-priced Red and Green/Orange controllers were also unveiled, giving further options for gamers to personalize the way they look at their controllers.

For players, however, who have ideas on how they can customize their controllers further to the specifications they like, the Xbox Design Lab provides that free hand. From color schemes to engraved accents, gamers have the liberty to cook up whatever is on their minds, and the personalized accessory arrives within 14 business days with free shipping.

As far the Xbox Wireless Controller — Recon Tech Special Edition — is concerned, it will be made available to retailers worldwide by April 25 for $69.99.
