Xenoblade Chronicles X Release Date is 2015, Virtual World 5 Times Larger Than Predecessor

Xenoblade Chronicles X, the upcoming Japanese role-playing video game developed by Monolith Soft and published by Nintendo exclusively for WiiU is slated to hit the shelves 2015 in Japan, North America, Europe and Australia. The gaming world for the RPG is reportedly humongous.

One of the latest installments of the Japanese Xeno video game series, this open world RPG puts emphasis on exploration where travelling could be made possible by walking or riding along humanoid robots that are five times larger than the human characters. These "Dolls" or mechs can fly and traverse into waters. They also have the ability to transform into various forms like motorcycles or tanks.

Monolith Soft's president Tetsuya Takashi pointed out that the game map will be five times larger than those featured in 2010's Xenoblade Chronicles. He further explained that increasing the map size is necessary to put in relative proportion to the aforementioned gigantc "Dolls" that players will be riding across the game world.

"So to get the same feel as Xenoblade Chronicles, the map would need to be five times bigger. The game world in X is in fact even bigger than that," he told Edge magazine.

The battle system in Xenoblade Chronicles X will be similar to the original game.

Several critic and review sites offered strong praise after the video game was presented at the previous E3 convention. Eurogamer, in particular, included the game in their "Most Anticipated" list, saying that non-JPRG fans would find a great deal of fun to the upcoming game for its effort in "mixing action, strategy and narrative into a delicious, idiosyncratic concoction with broad appeal."
