Xiaomi Mi 7 Specs, Release Date: Flagship Getting Wireless Support?

The latest move by the ever-growing Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi bodes well for its next flagship — the Xiaomi Mi 7.

GSM Arena found Xiaomi listed as part of the Wireless Power Consortium, a group of tech firms that promote the use of Qi wireless charging. Apple, Samsung and LG are all members of this party.

There is no official confirmation from the company yet but its name appearing on the list posted on the Wireless Power Consortium website suggests that it is indeed the group's latest member.

Because of this, media outlets now expect that the Xiaomi Mi 7, the next big thing from the tech firm, will be the first from the company to feature wireless charging, making it all the more high-quality.

While this comes as quite the good news, Phone Arena felt like the inclusion of Xiaomi to the Wireless Power Consortium came a bit late, considering its recent release — the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 — could have benefited a lot from the wireless charging feature.

Either way, fans of Xiaomi have another reason to be more excited about the next flagships from the company as this premium new feature will likely be incorporated in them.

Xiaomi is known for making use of first-rate features and components into affordable mobile offerings. The fact that wireless charging will likely be on board its next releases such as the Xiaomi Mi 7 goes to show that the China-based phone maker is blurring the line between premium and inexpensive.

Apart from this sought-after feature, the Xiaomi Mi 7 is also rumored to be the first device to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor since it is expected to come out early next year.

This formidable chipset will be made formidable with 6 GB of random-access memory (RAM). An 8 GB version is also said to be made available.

The Xiaomi Mi 7 will apparently sport a 6-inch active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) display built by Samsung, which should offer vibrant and stunning visuals.
