Xiaomi Mi4 Specs, Release Date: 64GB Edition Gets Permanent Price Cut in India

Xiaomi is slowly becoming a household name among Android fans all over the world, particularly in countries where it has already launched its flagship devices.

The Chinese brand announced the Mi4 flagship last year, and was made available in selected markets a few months later. But for Xiaomi and Android fans in India, there is something good to look forward to.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the Chinese manufacturer has made a permanent price cut in its Xiaomi Mi4 64GB edition for the Asian subcontinent. From the price of Rs. 23,999 or about $375, the device is now Rs. 4,000 cheaper.

In the report, the Mi4 64GB edition now costs Rs. 17,999 or around $281.

For fans and interested buyers who want a refresher of what the current Xiaomi flagship is like, the device packs a 5-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 3GB of RAM, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, an option for either 16GB or 64GB of built in storage, and a 3,080mAh battery.

Other specs include a 13MP primary shooter, an 8MP front camera, and Android 4.4.4 Kit Kat out of the box, although there are already reports pointing to an Android 5.0 Lollipop release for recent Xiaomi devices.

Unfortunately for the Indian market, the Xiaomi Mi4 devices available to them do not have 4G LTE connectivity yet.

The price cut also indicates that the upcoming Xiaomi Mi5 could be under way, and should be announced in the coming weeks.
