Xperia Z3 Specs to Be Almost Identical to Z2 Model

The Xperia Z3 specifications will be almost identical to those found on the Xperia Z2 model.

Evan Blass of @evleaks released a report this week that details the rest of the smartphone's specs that were not found in some of the previous leaks. This information basically confirms how close the new model will actually be to the previous one in terms of hardware.

It was already revealed that the Xperia Z3 would come with the same Snapdragon 801 chip, however, it will feature a faster clock speed than the Z2. The rest of the specs are also quite similar. They include a 5.15-inch 1080p display, 3GB RAM, 16GB storage, a 20.7-megapixel Exmor RS rear cam, a 2.1-megapixel front camera and Android 4.4 KitKat.

This is not that big of a jump and this news is sure to leave Xperia fans confused when trying to figure out what new features Sony will offer with it. The company upgrades its smartphones twice a year which makes it difficult for them to make any significant changes with each device. However, it will still need a selling point so Sony will probably come up with something for the Z3 before it is announced.

The Xperia Z2 is currently available for AT&T and Verizon in the U.S and can be purchased in various overseas markets. It comes with a design close to its predecessor, however, it features improved software and hardware that makes it a good buy, according to the company.

Specs on the device include a 5.2-inch Full HD Live Color LED Display with 1920 x 1080 resolution, a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 CPU, Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB RAM, 4K video capture, Digital noise canceling technology, 3200 mAh battery, a waterproof and dustproof body, 4G LTE support and Android 4.4 KitKat integrated with Sony features.
