Prince William and Kate Middleton began their first joint overseas tour June 30th, 2011. They arrived at MacDonald-Cartier International Airport in Ottawa.

Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, were met by protesters Saturday in the French-speaking province of Quebec as they visited a children's hospital.

The British royal couple was met by the protestors as they continued their nine-day journey through Canada on their first official overseas trip.

Canadian Catholic priest, Father Raymond Gravel, has filed a lawsuit against a pro-life news service for presenting him as “pro-abortion.”

“I am against abortion but LifeSiteNews.com says always I am for abortion,” said Gravel, according to The B.C. Catholic Newspaper.

Marriage commissioners cannot refuse to perform same-sex marriages, even if doing so would be contrary to their religious beliefs, the highest appeal court in Saskatchewan, Canada, ruled Monday.

The Saskatchewan Court of Appeal rejected two amendments to Canada's Marriage Act that would have protected the religious and conscience freedoms of marriage commissioners.

"Either of them, if enacted, would violate the equality rights of gay and lesbian individuals," the court said in its decision as it declared the amendments to be unconstitutional. more >>

Responding to recent media reports about a ban on Twilight and Harry Potter toy donations, The Salvation Army released a statement Thursday saying it has no such policy.

"The Salvation Army has no policy against distributing Harry Potter or similar toys and, in fact, these types of toys are donated and distributed in some areas," the Christian organization said.

The statement comes amid reports that The Salvation Army in Canada has chosen not to distribute to children donated items relating to the Twilight or Harry Potter fantasy series. more >>
