• Colorado Christian University Files Lawsuit Over Obamacare

By Brittany Smith on December 22,2011

Colorado Christian University became the first interdenominational Christian college to challenge in federal court the Obamacare mandate of abortifacients – drugs that induce abortions.

On Wednesday, CCU joined Belmont Abbey College, a Catholic college in North Carolina in filing a lawsuit over the regulation that requires employers' health insurance plans to provide free contraception and sterilization under their group health plan.

As a Christian college, CCU teaches the sanctity of life at all stages, and that abortions are against God’s law. more >>

  • $80,000 USAFA Pagan Ritual Site Up and Running

By Brittany Smith on December 01,2011

The United States Air Force Academy has worship spaces for most of the world’s major religions. But until last year, cadets who followed Earth-based religions – including Pagans and Wiccans – were lacking a proper area to practice rituals in.

Now, about four to seven of the 4,300 USAFA cadets gather each week at the academy’s new pagan ritual site, called the Cadet Chapel Falcon Circle, to participate in what the academy says are “smudging ceremonies, meditation and ceremonial magic.”

Meade Warthen, chief of the Media Relations Division for the academy, told The Christian Post in an email, “Three cadets have formerly identified themselves as Pagan. Currently, there are no self-identified Gardnerian Wicca, Dianic Wicca, Seax Wicca, Wicca, Druid, or Shaman cadets.” more >>

  • New Colo. Personhood Amendment Features New, Improved Language

By Stephanie Samuel on November 22,2011

Christian pro-life group Personhood USA is making plans for a 2012 personhood amendment in Colorado after learning from the mistakes of the failed Mississippi amendment.

On Monday, the leadership of Personhood USA and Personhood Colorado announced plans to pursue a Colorado Personhood Amendment. In light of the unsuccessful Mississippi measure, officials say they have a new language to encourage an upswing in the number of people who vote to protect pre-born life.

“In past elections Planned Parenthood, which is the largest and wealthiest abortion provider in the United States, attacked our amendments with lies and scare tactics,” Personhood USA Co-founder Keith Mason said during the Monday press conference. “The new personhood language prevents those falsehoods by making it absolutely clear what the amendment can and cannot do – while still protecting every child from his or her earliest stages.” more >>

  • Christian School Teacher, Pastors Arrested in Denver Child Sex Assault Case

By Nicola Menzie on November 21,2011

In what appears to be a failed scheme to cover up a teacher's affair with a teen student, officials in Delaware have arrested the teacher, her father, her uncle and a former principal who all worked at a Christian high school. Two of the men arrested and charged also serve at a local Baptist church.

According to the grand jury indictment obtained by ABC News 7, Terah Allyn Rawlings, a teacher at Hilltop Baptist School in Colorado Springs, Colo., was charged with eight counts of sexual assault on a child for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy in 2007 and 2008.

Rawlings was arrested Wednesday, Nov. 16 and posted a $25,000 bond, reports CBS Denver. more >>

  • Tim Tebow: Five Reasons for Broncos' Tebow-Led Success

By Daniel J. Seco on November 14,2011

When a quarterback completes just two passes over the course of a game, the outcome for his team is rarely favorable.

Unless, of course, your name is Tim Tebow.

The Denver Broncos quarterback led his team over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday by the score of 17-10 – without having to put the ball in the air. more >>

  • Former Air Force Cadet Tries to Get Rid of Operation Christmas Child

By Brittany Smith on November 08,2011

Former Air Force cadet and founder of Military Religious Freedom Foundation Michael Weinstein doesn’t want Air Force Academy cadets to participate in Operation Christmas Child to help needy children. He says academy officials crossed a line by promoting the charity because it pushes Christian ideas.

Weinstein’s accusation is the result of an email sent out last week to all Air Force cadets regarding Operation Christmas Child. The email, sent by a cadet after approval from a cadet leader, told fellow cadets about the opportunity to participate in the Christmas charity.

Maj. Darren Duncan, a Protestant chaplain from the Air Force, told The Christian Post Monday that different email lists at the academy serve different functions. The email about OCC should have been sent to the Christian distribution list instead of to all cadets. more >>
