ALBANY, Ga. – After much anticipation, the makers of runaway hits “Fireproof” and “Facing the Giants” announced Sunday night that their next film project will be about the need for godly fathers.
“Courageous,” the fourth film by movie-making church ministry Sherwood Pictures, will follow four police officers as they wrestle to make different decisions that will impact the lives of their families. The four men will go through a tragedy together that will challenge them to fulfill the role of fathers as God intended it to be.

The ban on Bible verse banners at a Georgia high school's football games was upheld by the Catoosa County Board of Education Tuesday night.
Board Chairman Don Dycus said the resolution they adopted earlier this month that the signs violated the First Amendment still stands.

One of the largest evangelical churches in the country recently received permission to build a bridge from its campus to a major highway to help ease the flow of traffic on Sundays.
North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, Ga., will begin construction on the $5 million bridge in December. The bridge, the senior pastor said, will help draw more unchurched people who would otherwise find it difficult to attend because of the usual parking lot jam.
"Those of you who are regular attendees have learned to navigate the congestion without losing your faith in the process," Pastor Andy Stanley wrote in a letter to the 22,000-member congregation. "But you also know the complexity of inviting someone to 'Meet us at church.'" more >>

Thousands of young church leaders made the annual trek to Catalyst Atlanta last week to hear some of the most popular speakers share their insights, experiences and challenges.
"Every leader leaves a mark. But the challenge is… what type of mark will you leave?" Andy Stanley of North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, Ga., asked the more than 10,000 attendees.

Hundreds of people joined a rally Tuesday night to support Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School cheerleaders and their right to paint Bible verses on banners.
The signs, which the Georgia school football team has run through for years, were banned last week over a complaint that the banners promoted religion.
