The student riot over the child sex abuse scandal at Penn State did not sit well with a faith leader at the university who spoke with The Christian Post about misleading representations of the overall campus community and how recent events have led to an openness to faith on campus.
Adam Jepson, associate director of college ministries at Penn State University, told CP the riots were "a poor representation of Penn State pride."
Some PSU students rioted in the street in uproar over the dismissal of legendary head football coach Joe Paterno. Protestors overturned a media van and broke car windows. Their rowdy behavior continued throughout Wednesday night, when Paterno's dismissal was announced. more >>

After the riots at Penn State University, in which students protested the firing of the school's legendary head football coach Joe Paterno, who is accused of not taking proper action in a child sex abuse case, those very familiar with the issue of sexual abuse say they are in shock and find the whole incident troubling.
After school administrators announced Paterno's firing Wednesday night, Penn State students took to the streets, chanting their beloved coach's name.
An estimated 2,200 students started rioting Wednesday night and continued through Thursday, moving into the downtown area of Penn State, known as Beaver Canyon, yelling slogans like "We love Joe," "We want Joe," and "We are Penn State." more >>
The Gideons International Scripture Blitz Hits Erie County
Allowing people to encounter the truth of God’s Word themselves, The Gideons International, famous for their distribution of compact Bibles, continues its efforts of spreading Scripture all throughout the world, focusing this time in Erie County, Pa.
For the first time, local members of the organization are holding their Scripture Blitz event in the county, attempting to give away 20,000 Bibles and New Testaments in just three days, according to Erie Times-News.

Ryan Dunn's private memorial service Wednesday night was peaceful but that will likely not be the case for the actor's public memorial service which Westboro Baptist Church has vowed to picket.
Hundreds of Ryan Dunn's friends and family paid their respects to Dunn during a private memorial service in West Chester, Pa., Wednesday, two days after his sudden death Monday morning. The service, which lasted more than four hours, was attended by actors Johnny Knoxville and Bam Margera and "It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia" actors Glenn Howerton and Rob McElhenney.

The second generation author of the bestselling children's series The Berenstain Bears, says the new "Living Lights" mini-series gives him the opportunity to express his newfound faith.
The Berenstain Bears series has existed for nearly five decades, teaching children of all ages lessons about everyday family life. In the last four years the brand has also begun publishing Bible-themed stories such as the The Berenstain Bears Show God's Love and The Berenstain Bears Follow God's Word in a mini-series called the Living Lights.
Mike Berenstain, the son of the series original writers and illustrators, is the brainchild behind the mini-series. He says the mini-series, specially created for Christian publisher Zondervan, gives him an outlet to share his Christian beliefs. more >>
