Saddleback Church pastor and best-selling author Rick Warren is telling Christians that they should "personalize" scripture by inserting themselves into certain biblical passages.
In an entry found on Rick Warren's Daily Hope website published Sunday, Warren wrote a meditation centered on the Bible verse Philippians 1:6.
"And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns," reads the verse, as rendered by the New Living Translation, Second Edition. more >>

California-based Saddleback Church, led by Pastor Rick Warren, has reached a new milestone in its 36 years of ministry with its 45,000th baptism, and the pastor took the 45,000th person baptized out to lunch.
"This weekend is a historic weekend for our church because somebody in this group is going to be the 45,000th baptism of Saddleback Church," Pastor Warren told his congregation last Sunday, as the church reached the unprecedented achievement. Last weekend alone, 792 people were baptized, and Pastor Warren personally baptized 600 of them. This led to Saddleback recording 45,743 baptisms in total thus far across all 16 campuses, the church announced in a statement. more >>
Pastor Rick Warren of Saddleback Church in California spoke about the "absolute worst day" of his life when his son, Matthew, died by suicide on April 5, 2013, and emphasized that without the hope of Jesus Christ, he and his wife, Kay, would have never made it through.
"No one needs to suffer by themselves," Warren said in a video promoting World Mental Health Day on Monday.
"In 2013 my son Matthew lost his battle for hope, and he ended his life after 27 years. The day he died was the absolute worst day of my life. Many people since then have asked me, how did you and Kay get through those darkest days? The answer is real simple. The hope that we have in Jesus Christ," he explained. more >>

You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body."
"How do you do that? How do you honor God with your body? Real simple: You take care of it," wrote Warren, adding that more >>
