  • Glenn Beck's Advice on 'Social Justice' Churches Sparks Outrage

    Anti-poverty Christian groups are up in arms after popular political commentator Glenn Beck urged Christians to leave their church if it talks about social justice.

    Beck, a Mormon, said the word “social justice” is code for communism and Nazism.

    “Beck says Christians should leave their social justice churches,” wrote the Rev. Jim Wallis, CEO of the social justice ministry Sojourners, in response to Beck’s comments. more >>

  • Pro-Bible Ad Campaign Runs on Fox, MSNBC

    A national media campaign to promote the authority of the Bible began running commercials on Fox News, FoxNews.com and MSNBC.com on Monday.

    The “I Am Not Ashamed” campaign, organized by apologetics ministry Answers in Genesis, will run commercials from March 1 to April 25 featuring individuals from different backgrounds, nationalities, ages and cultures saying they are not ashamed of the Gospel.

    Organizers hope to convey the message that despite physical differences, people around the world hold in common a respect and appreciation for the relevance of God’s word in today’s world. more >>

  • Stephen Baldwin Fan Tries to 'Restore' Bankrupt Star

    He’s a fan of Stephen Baldwin, but not of him as the big-name Hollywood actor. This fan appreciates Stephen Baldwin as the evangelist, who gave up fame and fortune and suffered bankruptcy to testify about Christ.

    Lyn Fletcher, a Christian businessman from Florida, is the founder of the website Restore Stephen Baldwin. Fletcher said he was “grieved” to find out that the youngest Baldwin brother (all four brothers are Hollywood actors) was having financial trouble and had filed for bankruptcy.

    He created the site – the idea of which came about in August – because he thought many Christians would be interested in giving a token of appreciation to help the struggling actor-turned-evangelist. more >>

    Jenny Sanford, soon-to-be ex-wife of disgraced South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, said she looks to her Christian faith and to God during times of crisis.

    In an interview with CNN’s “Larry King Live,” South Carolina’s first lady talked about her new memoir, Staying True , which hits bookstores Friday and recounts her 20-year marriage and the affair that ended it.

    “I think it is an honest account of the values I hold dear and the things that I turn to in times of crisis or in a busy political life to keep myself very solid and grounded in my faith, my values,” Sanford said Monday night. “I look to my faith, I look to my God, I look to my friends, and I look to my relationship with my family.” more >>

  • Megachurch Doritos Ad Aired during Super Bowl XLIV

    A megachurch-produced Doritos ad was ranked among the top 15 commercials that aired during this year’s Super Bowl.

    “Casket,” created by Los Angeles-based Mosaic Church, ranked No. 14 on the USA Today Ad Meter, which measures how popular ads that air during the Super Bowl are with viewers.

    Neither Mosaic nor the public knew that “Casket” would be aired. more >>
