Paul Colman Joins Newsboys

Grammy nominated and Dove Award-winning artist Paul Colman will be joining the Newsboys as their new guitarist.

Grammy nominated and Dove Award-winning artist Paul Colman will be joining the Newsboys as their new guitarist.

The decision was confirmed last Tuesday by the Newsboys and their label Inpop Records after Colman performed with the group at their Jan. 13 Winter Jam show.

"Over the last five years, I have done about 100 shows all over the world alongside Newsboys,” said Colman. “Peter [Furler, Newsboys frontman,] and I actually go a long way back. My dad is a famous singer and I saw Peter play drums for him at a huge outdoor event in Australia when we were both teenagers. We've been mates for a long time and it truly feels like I'm joining a bunch of friends that I have a lot of history with. I am thrilled to be a part of the Newsboys."

Furler added, "Paul is a great guitarist, singer and songwriter. Hanging out with him is always a pleasure, having him in the band … priceless."

Colman replaces long time Newsboys member Bryan Oleson, who sympathetically left the group to focus on his work with his band Casting Pearls.

The Newsboys with Paul Colman can currently be seen on the Winter Jam tour, which hits the Pepsi Coliseum in Indianapolis on Jan. 27.
