Why do we have so many guys from the college campus to the corporate C-Suite to the Hollywood and political elite dishonoring and devaluing women? As stories of boys behaving badly continue, we can no longer only ask what is wrong with them. This isn't just a story about an individual. It's about a sizable segment of the male population in America.
It's an awful thing when a woman, let alone multiple women, are hurt by a male leader. It is equally egregious when an organization doesn't appear to leap to a woman's defense regardless of the consequences. I'm thankful for the influence Bill has had on my life and that Willow has had on Crossroads. But these are times to continue to learn lessons from Bill and Willow.
I like to be liked. And yet, I'm going to write about politics. So that means half of you aren't going to like me after the first few paragraphs and most of the rest will follow by the end. But I want to help you. Not to help you think the way I think, but to consider navigating our incredibly divisive political culture in an emotionally sustainable way.
While I can't comment on why these two people ended their own lives, I can comment on why I think that dying at one's own hands is a growing problem, with untold numbers of us having attempted suicide or currently contemplating suicide.
