President Trump has declared a statewide emergency for Florida, warning that Hurricane Dorian could be an “absolute monster” as weather experts urge Floridians to be prepared and take warnings seriously.

Hurricane Dorian is expected to strengthen into a Category 4 and make landfall in Florida on Monday, and then move slowly up the Florida Peninsula into the middle of next week.

Authorities are advising residents to stockpile a week's worth of food and supplies to meet the impact of the hurricane.

Churches and relief agencies, including Decatur Church of Christ in Alabama and Southern Baptist Disaster Relief, are preparing to respond.

Christian authors blast Amazon for banning their books, selling pedophilia titles

Christian book authors are fighting back against retail giant Amazon for banning their books while it continues to sell titles that promote pedophilia.

Many of these Christian authors write about leaving the LGBT lifestyle to follow Jesus, and sexual orientation change efforts, a form of therapy that is frequently derided as conversion therapy.

Amazon took down the Christian authors’ books following a petition by gay activist Rojo Alan.

The ex-gay advocacy group Voice of the Voiceless has started its own petition urging Amazon to reverse course, saying its ban "is tantamount to religious discrimination."

— Appeals court denies homeschool family's request for CPS to return 4-year-old son

A homeschool family in Texas is appealing to the state Supreme Court for the return of their 4-year-old son who’s been held by the Department of Family and Protective Services since June 20th.

The parents’ plea comes a week after the Fifth Court of Appeals in Dallas denied their request.

Ashley and Daniel Pardo’s son, Drake, was taken into foster care after a doctor at Dallas Children’s Medical Center expressed concerns after the parents switched physicians. The doctor testified during a July hearing that she never requested for Drake to be removed from his home.

The family’s lawyers at the Texas Home School Coalition say the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services did not meet the legal requirements for removing the child from his home. The homeschool coalition also says the department purposely failed to inform the parents about a meeting they were supposed to attend, which was used as part of the reason for removing the child from his parents’ custody.

— Christian flag should be allowed at city hall, law group argues

A Christian nonprofit organization is suing the city of Boston, Massachusetts, after its request to fly the Christian flag at city hall was denied two years ago.

The Liberty Counsel, a conservative law firm representing the group known as Camp Constitution, argued in federal court on Wednesday that they should be allowed to fly the Christian flag at city hall because the local government has allowed over 300 other flag raisings by private organizations.

Liberty Council said the city has allowed the flags of Communist China and Cuba, as well as the LGBT rainbow flag and the transgender pink and blue flag to fly on the city’s flagpoles.

Camp Constitution hopes to win its case and be allowed to fly the Christian flag at the City Hall Plaza for future events.
