A federal judge ruled Friday that a Virginia school district's policy preventing transgender student Gavin Grimm from using boys' bathroom facilities violates the U.S. Constitution.

Judge Arenda Wright Allen also ordered that the Gloucester County School Board change the biological female student’s transcripts to reflect a male identity.

Grimm, who graduated, had filed a lawsuit in 2015 as a sophomore.

— Hillsong worship leader clarifies he hasn’t renounced faith but it’s on shaky ground

Marty Sampson, a Hillsong worship songwriter and leader, clarified this week that he hasn’t fully renounced his Christianity. But he said his faith is on “incredibly shaky ground.”

He responded to an op-ed in The Christian Post written by Michael Brown, saying he’s “struggling with many parts of the belief system that seem so incoherent with common human morality.”

He said he’s analyzing arguments from biblical scholars and seeking answers to such questions as why doesn’t God rid the world of sickness and why the Bible is full of contradictions.

— Robert Morris preaches at Texas’ largest prison

Megachurch pastor Robert Morris surprised hundreds of inmates last week when he showed up to deliver a sermon at H.H. Coffield Unit in Anderson County, which is Texas’ largest prison.

Over 400 inmates were gathered to hear from a different pastor but Morris decided to visit his church’s latest campus. Morris told them that everyone makes mistakes but God is not mad at them and that they have gifts that can be used for the kingdom of God.

Gateway Church’s Coffield campus was launched last November and since then, over 1,000 men have made decisions for Christ.

— Illinois public schools must teach LGBT history

Illinois adopted a law last Friday that requires public schools in the state to teach students about the role and contributions of LGBT persons in U.S. history.

Terry Schilling, executive director of the American Principles Project, argues that the new law is an “imposition” of a sexually liberal belief system.

The new law goes into effect next summer.
