The gunman in the Dayton, Ohio mass shooting, Connor Betts, was the lead singer in a "pornogrind" metal group, reports say, and their songs celebrated sexual exploitation and violence.

The connection between the use of sexually violent porn and a mass shooting is not surprising to experts.

Laila Mickelwait, director of abolition at Exodus Cry, told The Christian Post, "Consuming pornography certainly plays a supporting role in men committing violence against women. That is because pornography creates in the mind of the viewer what sociologists call 'permission giving beliefs.'”

Additionally, she said, studies have "found that the consumption of pornography was significantly associated with increases in verbal and physical aggression."

China removes 'Bible,' 'God,' 'Christ' from children's classics like 'Robinson Crusoe'

Authorities in China have erased the words "Bible," "God" and "Christ" from classic children’s stories, including Robinson Crusoe.

China’s Ministry of Education recently introduced a new school textbook to help fifth-grade students “understand other cultures.” Included in the textbook are four popular stories by foreign writers, including Robinson Crusoe, The Little Match Girl, and Vanka. However, each story is censored to remove any religious reference.

Gunmen kill Nigerian pastor and abduct his wife; church leader calls for gov't protection

A Nigerian pastor was reportedly killed and his wife was abducted while traveling on a dreaded and notorious stretch of highway where hundreds have been held hostage by criminals in recent months.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has condemned the killing of Kaduna pastor Jeremiah Omolara of Living Faith Church, who was said to have been killed by gunmen while traveling with his wife and son on the Abuja-Kaduna Highway Sunday evening. The son escaped.

Joseph Hayab, who chairs CAN's Kaduna chapter, said, "the new trend is to attack us in our homes or in our churches or on the roads. We are just not safe anywhere and we are asking the same question we have been asking: 'where are our security agencies?'"

Evangelical ministry leaders resign amid allegations of abuse, misappropriation of funds

The new head of Potter's Field Ministries (PFM), a 27-year-old nonprofit that was previously affiliated with Calvary Chapel, announced last month that the organization's founders, Michael and Pam Rozell, have stepped down from their day-to-day leadership roles with both PFM and Potter's Field Ranch.

The Rozells were accused this year of verbally abusing and manipulating people who served with the ministry's IGNITE internship program.

Over a dozen sources involved with the internship program since 2000 detailed their experiences of verbal abuse, sexually inappropriate conversations and being forced to work excessive hours for below minimum wage.

Additionally, Potter's Field Ministries CFO Don McClure revealed that hundreds of thousands in funds designated for a PFM program to feed kids in Cambodia, Uganda, Costa Rica, and Guatemala were diverted to the internship program.
