Founders Ministries President Tom Ascol, senior pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Cape Coral, Florida has been hospitalized.

In a statement posted to the Founders’ website on Sunday, the ministry group explained that during church Ascol “suddenly fell to the ground and was unresponsive.”

Founders went on to explain that Ascol was sent to the hospital and that while he had “stable vitals,” he was still struggling with responsiveness.

“We request your earnest prayers for Pastor Tom, his family, Grace Baptist Church, and Founders Ministries,” stated the group.

In an update posted later on Sunday, Pastor Jared Longshore, vice president of Founders Ministries, explained that Ascol was at present “much more coherent and responsive.”

One of the three heroic sailors who died protecting others during a mass shooting at Naval Air Station Pensacola on Friday morning had only recently rekindled his faith.

Anthony Snead, who coached Airman Mohammad Sameh Haitham, a 19-year-old from St. Petersburg, Florida, in track and cross-country at Lakewood High School in St. Petersburg, said Haitham, who graduated in 2018, recently rekindled his Christian faith and had been attending church with a classmate.

He explained how proud he was of Haitham who once told him that he was unsure what he wanted to do with his life, but he wanted it to be positive.

Sudan prime minister meets with USCIRF

Sudan’s new Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok met with the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom Thursday and assurances were made that the country that is ranked sixth-worst in the world for Christian persecution is working to improve liberty and human rights.

Hamdok, who was appointed in August, visited Washington, D.C. last week months after a coup d'état upended the leadership of dictator Omar al-Bashir and paved the way for a transitional government.

Hamdock’s visit marked the first time that the leader of the Sudanese government has visited Washington in three decades.

Saturday Night Live shows comedic sketch of impersonated Nancy Pelosi praying for Trump

Saturday Night Live recently had a sketch poking fun at the idea of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi praying for President Donald Trump.

Following her announcement that the House of Representatives would draft articles of impeachment against the president, Pelosi explained to a reporter that she prays for Trump.

As part of the SNL sketch “Weekend Update” aired on Saturday, cast member Kate McKinnon impersonated the Democratic Speaker praying for the Republican president.

“Lord, please help Donald Trump,” said McKinnon as Pelosi, angelic music in the background. “If he has to be president, please make him a little better at any of it.”

“And please take him. Not to Heaven or anything, just somewhere else, just for a little while. Mama needs a break.”
