Over 1,000 Christians have been killed this year in Nigeria as attacks led by Fulani extremists continue to plague rural farming communities in the Middle Belt, according to Humanitarian Aid Relief Trust.

The report says, “Islamist Fulani militia continue to engage in an aggressive and strategic land grabbing policy in Plateau, Benue, Taraba, Southern Kaduna and parts of Bauchi state. They attack rural villages, force villagers off their lands and settle in their place — a strategy that is epitomized by the phrase: ‘your land or your blood.’”

Beach town threatened with lawsuit for banning nativity display from boardwalk

The First Liberty Institute, a national legal group that defends First Amendment rights, sent a demand letter to leaders in the town of Rehoboth Beach on Thursday, saying the town was violating the First Amendment by banning a nativity display by Saint Edmond Church and a local chapter of the Catholic fraternal organization Knights of Columbus from the bandstand circle at its town boardwalk.

According to the letter, a nativity scene had been part of the Christmas holiday tradition at the Bandstand circle in Rehoboth Beach for decades until 2018 when the city ordered that the crèche be removed on grounds that a religious display could not be located on public property.

New Jersey megachurch packs over 1,000 meals for children in need

The Paramus campus of The Life Christian Church, which meets at an AMC movie theater at Garden State Plaza, helped put together 1,056 food kits on Sunday with other volunteers.

Terry Smith, senior pastor of Life Christian, told The Christian Post that the food-packing event was consistent with one of the church’s core values, namely, to be “enthusiastic servants of all.”

“And our church’s mission is: ‘to inspire people to the life God dreams for them as we spread His love in ever-widening circles,’” Smith said.

“We see community service as a foundational part of being a follower of Jesus. We want The Life Christian Church Paramus campus to be known for spreading His love across Bergen county and helping families in need is a part of that.”

'The Gospel of John' off-Broadway play receives rave reviews from theater critics

The off-Broadway play "The Gospel of John" has received rave reviews from theater critics since its opening night and is being hailed as one of the “best Christmas shows” in New York City this season.

Created and performed by award-winning Broadway actor Ken Jennings, "The Gospel of John" is a powerful 90-minute solo performance of the Gospel account in the book of John.

The production has received numerous rave reviews since its opening night at the end of November.

The New York Times review said, “Plays can bring spiritual solace. On the unadorned stage, two flights below Bleecker Street, the actor Ken Jennings had only a single prop: a compact Bible. When theater is a religious experience, faith has a powerful role.”

Kanye West shares Christmas story in new ‘Mary' opera

Newly born-again Christian Kanye West brought his opera production “Mary” to Marine Stadium in Miami to share the message of the nativity.

West debuted the opera Sunday afternoon while artists from across the country gathered for the final day of Art Basel. The emcee and his production team gathered at the Miami Marine Stadium adorned in silver face paint and metallic clothes.

“Mary” is West’s follow-up to last month’s production of “Nebuchadnezzar” held at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California.

Tickets for the opera were listed at $200 each and sold out in a day.
