— Franklin Graham event canceled in Liverpool over evangelist’s views

An entertainment venue in the United Kingdom canceled an upcoming Franklin Graham event, noting that some of the evangelist’s statements are “incompatible” with their values.
In response to the ACC Liverpool Group’s cancellation, Graham said this week that he is going to the U.K. not out of hate but out of love.
He said, “I’m not coming to the UK to speak against anybody, I’m coming to speak for everybody. The Gospel is inclusive.”
— Supreme Court allows Trump admin. immigration rule to go into effect
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled 5-4 on Monday that the Trump administration’s “public charge” rule that would restrict legal immigration, could go into effect.
Under the rule, legal immigrants would be prevented from getting visas or green cards if they rely on government assistance such as food stamps and Medicaid.
Some evangelicals have criticized the new rule, including Matthew Soerens of the Evangelical Immigration Table, who said it could lead to more people immigrating illegally.
— Another church in Algeria ordered to shut down
Another church in Algeria has been ordered to shut down as the government’s crackdown on houses of worship continues.
Hope Evangelical Church in Oran city in western Algeria received a closure order issued by a local court earlier this month.
Since last January, 13 churches have been closed under a 2006 law requiring that all non-Muslim places of worship be authorized by a government board called the National Commission for Non-Muslim Worship.
— Fulani herdsmen kill over a dozen Christians in Nigeria
Muslim Fulani herdsmen killed over a dozen Christians in separate attacks in Plateau state this month amid a spate of violence carried out against believers in Nigeria.
Herdsmen invaded Torok village in Riyom County on Jan. 20, killing a 25-year-old Christian. Earlier in the month, 13 members of the Church of Christ in Nations were killed in an attack.
Nigeria has seen a rise in attacks against Christians by Fulani herdsmen in recent years.
— Woman who took hormone drugs sues UK gender clinic
A British woman, who was given hormone blockers and opposite sex hormones as part of a gender transition, is suing the clinic that gave her the drugs, arguing she was medically harmed.
Keira Bell, who is 23, argues that the approach of the U.K.’s lone gender clinic, the Tavistock and Portman National Health Service Trust, is not lawful because the risks are not adequately explained and minors are incapable of giving consent to such interventions.
She said, "The treatment needs to change so that it does not put young people, like me, on a torturous and unnecessary path that is permanent and life-changing.”
In the past decade, the number of referrals of boys and girls for “gender treatment” has increased by 4,000 percent in the U.K.
