Disabilities advocate Joni Eareckson Tada announced that she’s cancer-free.

The beloved speaker had been diagnosed with breast cancer a second time last November. Previously, she had stage 3 breast cancer eight years ago and was healed.

Calling it “quite miraculous,” she said a recent PET scan showed that her tumor did not metastasize and that she was “all clear” after a series of radiation treatments.

—Florida church pays off $7.2 million in medical debt of thousands of families

Stetson Baptist Church in DeLand, Florida, is paying off over $7.2 million in medical debt of over 6,500 individuals and families.

The church had raised over $153,000 for the sole purpose of giving it away to people in need. Not only is Stetson Baptist Church paying off debt through RIP Medical Debt, but it is also donating to three foster homes.

Senior Pastor Dan Glenn commented, “God’s people just really were very generous and poured their hearts out into this opportunity … I think it’s a responsibility that we have to show people in a practical way that God loves them.”

— IJM to cut staff over possible gov’t cuts to Central American aid

International Justice Mission has been in Guatemala since 2005, helping to train prosecutors, police and judges in dealing more effectively with cases involving sexual violence against children.

But the Christian advocacy group cut about one-third of its staff in anticipation of the Donald Trump administration’s planned reduction of aid to Central America.

While IJM waits for a final word from the U.S. State Department, Jim Martin, IJM’s vice president of spiritual formation, believes cutting funding to programs that help make the countries safer places to live could end up increasing the flow of migrants to the U.S.

— Church no longer allowed to lead UK library playgroup over “God” songs

After eight years, the Noah’s Ark playgroup will no longer be allowed to lead the weekly Rhyme Time events at a public library in the United Kingdom after complaints were made about children singing about the Bible and God.

The West Sussex County council made the decision for Burgess Hill Library in order to make Rhyme Time sessions open to people of all faiths or no faith.

Noah’s Ark playgroup had sung such songs as “Mr. Noah Built an Ark” and “God Has Made a Rainbow.”
