— American pastors failing to teach theology of persecution, Open Doors CEO David Curry says
American pastors are failing to teach a biblical theology of persecution, which contributes to an inattention to the rise of Christian persecution, Open Doors USA CEO David Curry explained in an interview with The Christian Post.
"This is a bit of an indictment, but I think pastors ... they're not teaching their church about it, they're not teaching a biblical standard, they’re not teaching a theology of persecution," he said.
"The New Testament was written by persecuted Christians. There are books of the Bible that start with Paul in prison, and at the end, he’s still in prison. But we're not hearing that gospel in America, and I think it's created a chasm between us and the rest of the world. We are not living in reality. So I think it's an indictment of the leadership here in America and the West. It's not to say it can't turn around, but we need to have every church, every Sunday, talking, praying in some way about their persecuted brothers and sisters."
When asked, "What are the least known persecuted places in the world?" Curry cited Nigeria and India.
— Democrats appeal to an 'imaginary god created in their own minds,' Robert Jeffress says
Dallas megachurch pastor and one of President Donald Trump’s spiritual advisors Robert Jeffress criticized the Democratic Party’s recent hiring of a faith outreach director, saying that it is a “godless party” looking to an “imaginary God.”
Jeffress, the 63-year-old pastor of the 13,000-member First Baptist Dallas, was speaking Saturday at Faith & Freedom Coalition's Road to Majority Conference where President Donald Trump also spoke on Wednesday.
"It is becoming clearer and clearer that the Democrat Party has truly become a godless party," Jeffress said.

Trump met Kim on the border between North and South Korea in an impromptu meeting held Sunday as part of talks on issues like denuclearization.

— 3 arrested following Antifa violence at Oregon demonstration; Andy Ngo assaulted
Downtown Portland was the site of a major protest on Saturday that included Antifa activists, a few of whom physically and verbally attacked a reporter.
The attack on popular Quillette editor and photojournalist Andy Ngo resulted in three arrests and several injuries.
In response to the attack, conservative writer Michelle Malkin set up a GoFundMe campaign titled “Protect Andy Ngo Fund,” which quickly raised over $140,000.
Quillette stated: “Andy Ngo is an elfin, soft-spoken man. He also happens to be the gay son of Vietnamese immigrants—salient details, given Antifa’s absurd slogans about smashing the heteronormative white supremacist patriarchy. Although we lament his ordeal, we salute his journalistic courage in exposing a movement that seeks to crack skulls under cover of fighting fascism.”
