No refugees were resettled in the U.S. in October due to a pause placed by the State Department on refugee admissions.

According to World Relief, the humanitarian arm of the National Association of Evangelicals, the pause on refugee admissions led to hundreds of canceled flights and pushed thousands of refugees into a state of uncertainty.

The pause comes as the Trump administration lowered the cap of refugees to 18,000 for 2020, which is the lowest ceiling since the passage of the U.S. Refugee Act in 1980.

— Joshua Harris talks excommunicating people, himself

Former pastor Joshua Harris, who renounced his faith earlier this year, said in a new interview that he excommunicated himself after realizing that he wasn’t living according to the teaching of the Bible.

Formerly, as a pastor, he said he had excommunicated people for failing to meet certain scriptural standards such as living in unrepentant sin.

He said in an interview with Axios, “I was really just trying to be honest about the fact that all the ways that I had defined faith and Christianity that I was no longer choosing to live according to those — most significantly, the decision that my wife and I made to end our marriage.”

— Audio Adrenaline’s Mark Stuart on how losing his voice, marriage helped him discover God-given purpose

It’s been 13 years since the popular Grammy Award-winning band Audio Adrenaline announced that they were splitting up.

Mark Stuart, who was the lead singer of the Christian band, shares his journey of massive success and then losing it all in a new book, titled Losing My Voice to Find It.

Though he felt desperate after he lost his signature raspy voice due to a disorder and his marriage ended, God used him in a new way to help orphans and impoverished families.

Reflecting back, he said, “Everything flipped for me. I had the privilege of losing everything to gain perspective. God became bigger and more good in the midst of losing everything. For the first time in my life, God became bigger than me. My life became complete.”
