Four student evangelists from Wheaton College in Illinois are suing the Chicago city government over a set of rules that they say are restricting their freedom of speech and religion.

The students are members of the Chicago Evangelism Team sponsored by Wheaton College.

The students contend they have been prohibited by security from evangelizing at Millennium Park.

The Chicago Evangelism Team exists to “proclaim the Gospel in the city of Chicago to whomever we find there.”  The group would commute to the city on Friday nights to share the Gospel with those willing to listen and engage with them.

“We desire to exercise our constitutional right to free speech through sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ,” sophomore Matt Swart said. “For the sake of every citizen who desires to make use of the rights our forefathers bled for, we pray that the City of Chicago amends their unconstitutional code.”

Jesus appeared to Middle Eastern Muslim every night, recited entire Gospel of John

Pastor David Platt held an interview with a missionary identified only as Yazim.

Speaking via simulcast with a disguised voice, Yazim began by stating, “God is moving inside the Middle East with dreams, visions, and personal visitations.”

He shared the story of a man who lived about 50 kilometers outside of an unnamed Middle Eastern city.

“This man said this to us when we visited him: ‘A man wearing all white knocked at my door every night and I couldn’t look at him because his face was so shiny and bright,’” Yazim recalled. “‘When he would come inside, he asked me to write down what he said. As I wrote, I fell asleep. The next night, he would come again for the next month.’”

Yazim asked the man, “What did you write? May I see your notebook?”

The man showed Yazim his notebook. In it was written: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God ...," the opening portion of the New Testament book of John.

“He had the whole book of John verbatim in his notebook,” Yazim revealed. “Jesus visited him every night until he finished the book. The amazing thing is, the man actually asked us, ‘who was this man that visited me?’”

Persecuted pastor describes tortures of imprisonment facing Christians in Eritrea

A pastor from Eritrea who has since been resettled to Australia has shed some light on the horrifying conditions facing Christians imprisoned for their faith.

The pastor who goes by the name “Gabriel” recalled how he was tortured, starved and forced to do hard labor during his years in detention in Eritrea.

“Sometimes you dispute with God, why you let me go through this hardship?” Gabriel was quoted as saying. “But when you start reading the Bible, when you pray devotion daily, automatically your mind clicks, you are in the main way – the way you are supposed to go.”

Because he was a Christian leader, he was often singled out for beatings in prison.

He recalled one instance in which he was tied up and hit over the head with a stick for an hour as a means to send a message to other prisoners that the Christian faith will not be tolerated.

Pete Buttigieg says 2,200 aborted fetal remains found in his city ‘disturbing’ but don't politicize

Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg recently commented on the discovery of about 2,200 fetal remains at the home of deceased abortionist Dr. Ulrich Klopfer, who practiced in South Bend, Indiana, where Buttigieg serves as mayor.

In comments to the press on Wednesday, Buttigieg said, “Like everyone, I find the news out of Illinois extremely disturbing, and I think it’s important that it be fully investigated. I also hope it doesn’t get caught up in politics at a time when women need access to healthcare. There’s no question that what happened is disturbing. It’s unacceptable. And it needs to be looked into fully.”

Klopfer's license was suspended in 2015 when he failed to report the rape of an under-aged girl.

Ala. students say Lord’s Prayer at football game after atheist group gets school to end official prayer

A group of Alabama students loudly recited the Lord’s Prayer at a football game in response to a school district decision to quit giving an official prayer over a loudspeaker after an atheist group protested.

Opelika City Schools Board of Education replaced the tradition of giving prayers before football games with a moment of silence after receiving a letter from the Freedom From Religion Foundation on behalf of a local resident offended by the prayers.

However, last Friday at a football game students and fans in attendance recited the Lord’s Prayer.

One student said, “Yes, the other student felt targeted and alienated because of it, but now you’re taking it away from the majority, so now we’re having to go about it a different way.”
