President Donald Trump will give a speech on religious freedom next Monday at the United Nations headquarters in New York City and will host a special event to be attended by evangelical leaders and religious freedom advocates.

White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham stated, “The President is working to broaden international support for ongoing efforts to protect religious freedom in the wake of increasing persecution of people on the basis of their beliefs and a growing number of attacks on and destruction of houses of worship by state and non-state actors. The President will call on the international community to take concrete steps to prevent attacks against people on the basis of their religion or beliefs and to ensure the sanctity of houses of worship and all public spaces for all faiths.”

US abortions at lowest level since Roe v. Wade, Guttmacher finds; pro-lifers say it's incomplete

A new report from a leading pro-abortion research organization indicates that the abortion rate in the United States is at its lowest level since abortion was made a national right, but pro-lifers warn that the report does not tell the whole story.

The pro-choice Guttmacher Institute found that that the abortion rate dropped to 13.5 abortions per 1,000 women aged 15 to 44 in 2017, which the organization says is the “lowest rate recorded since abortion was legalized in 1973.”

Among the problems with the report, pro-life advocates say, Guttmacher claims Obamacare’s contraception mandate contributed to the decline, but studies show contraception mandates don't lower rates of unintended pregnancy and abortion; the U.S. government does not adequately track abortion data and some states with radically permissive abortion laws, such as California and New York, do not submit any data; and, there has been a rise in chemical abortions, which are done by taking an abortion pill, but Guttmacher’s census doesn't count those.

Facebook creates its own 'Supreme Court' to judge content ban appeals

Facebook has created a new oversight board to help set the tone on which posts violate policies, a body that some are calling the social media giant’s own “Supreme Court.”

In a posting Tuesday, Facebook announced an entity called The Oversight Board to give users a way to appeal Facebook’s decisions regarding content posted on Facebook or the Facebook-owned photo-sharing platform, Instagram.

The creation of the board comes as Facebook and other social media giants have been accused of censoring content from Christian conservatives and pro-life advocates.

Lila Rose, founder of the pro-life nonprofit Live Action, wondered, “Will Facebook’s new ‘Supreme Court’: Hold abortionists’ dangerous medical advice above the position of thousands of pro-life ObGyns? Obey the abortionists who help lead pro-abortion orgs, as they misrepresent our statements & demand our deplatforming?”

Facebook labeled Live Action as “false news” earlier this summer on the advice of two abortion doctors.

Pro-choice student creates bomb scare at anti-abortion event; pro-life students refuse to back down

A pro-life group has refused to back down after their event was evacuated by a bomb threat.

Noah Maldonado, the Minnesota regional coordinator for Students for Life of America (SFLA), was kicking off an event called 40 Days for Life at Rochester Community and Technical College Hill Theatre in Rochester, Minnesota when a young adult dropped a mysterious package in the middle of the room.

After individuals in the audience started smelling ammonia, the building was quickly evacuated by campus security, who notified law enforcement and the fire department.

Rochester police arrested Samuel Vanderwiel, 19, and charged him with one felony count of terroristic threats with reckless disregard, and misdemeanors; one count of 5th-degree assault; one count of disorderly conduct; and one count of public nuisance.

No one was injured in the incident.

Jeremy Camp's new album influenced by forthcoming film, ‘rough time’ he recently experienced

Award-winning Christian singer Jeremy Camp released his 11th studio album, The Story’s Not Over, on Friday and this new musical project was birthed out of a really tough time in his life.

Following the new album, Camp is gearing up for the release of a biopic feature film about his life, “I Still Believe.” The film will reportedly chronicle Camp’s personal story of “love, loss and faith,” and he said it has inspired his new music.

"This album series and what's been going on in my life right now is like, there's such a refreshing, crazy new thing in my heart that God's doing," Camp told The Christian Post. “A lot of it is because this movie has brought up a lot, kind of the journey back of what God has done in my life. It has been really incredible because I would say that besides my first record, this is probably the most vulnerable record that I've written.”

With 40 No. 1 singles under his belt and a career that spans nearly a decade, Camp said his new album made him reflect on all God has done throughout his life.
