NFL star Drew Brees has distanced himself from Focus on the Family’s views on LGBT issues following days of criticism from left-leaning media outlets after he appeared in a video promoting the Christian nonprofit’s “Bring Your Bible to School Day” movement.

Brees, a quarterback for the New Orleans Saints, released a video Thursday addressing news articles that called into question his association with the James Dobson-founded nonprofit.

Focus on the Family President Jim Daly contended that Brees is the "latest individual to be caught up in the middle of a growing intolerance toward those of us with a conservative Christian worldview."

Daly contested the "anti-LGBT religious group" label given to Focus on the Family in a Washington Post article. Daly argued that such a label is "decidedly unfair and a gross distortion of reality."

"Is there no longer any realm where I can disagree with someone on the definition of marriage and human sexuality and still be considered a decent person?" Daly asked.

"By both the Post’s and other critics' standards, anybody who holds to the historical teachings of biblical sexuality is now labeled a bully and bigot, someone who holds others in personal contempt."

'Peanut Butter Falcon' star Zack Gottsagen shared words from 'God' with Shia LaBeouf, director on set

Shia LaBeouf's new film, “The Peanut Butter Falcon,” is now showing in theaters nationwide and in an interview with The Christian Post, directors Tyler Nilson and Mike Schwartz laud actor Zachary Gottsagen for his wisdom and purity of heart exhibited on the set.

"Our friend, Zack Gottsagen, who stars in the movie, the guy with Down syndrome, has been a friend of ours for a long time and we were drawn toward his energy. ... So we wanted to live in a place that was filled with love, good feelings and connection, and rope swings and summer days, and people being good to each other.

I think the simplest message that I would want to put out into the world is: 'Let's be good to each other.' On some level, I think that's what the movie's trying to say," Schwartz said.

Chinese pastor shared Gospel with 1,000 North Koreans before being assassinated for his faith

A pastor on the China-North Korea border shared the hope of the Gospel with at least 1,000 North Koreans before he was assassinated for his missionary work in 2016, a defector has revealed.

Voice of the Martyrs says the Rev. Han Chung-Ryeol, a Chinese pastor of Korean descent, was on Pyongyang's most-wanted list as early as 2003 for his charitable work and dedication to spreading the Gospel.

One man helped by Han, Sang-chul, shared his story in a short documentary released by The Voice of the Martyrs.

In 2016 Han was brutally murdered in Changbai, China. Just 49 at the time of his death, the pastor's mangled body was discovered just hours after he left his church building.

"Pastor Han gave his life, but he gave hope to me and to many other North Koreans," Sang-chul said. "And despite the ever-present danger, many of us will continue to share the message that God is real."

Anglican congregation driven from property by Episcopal Church opens new sanctuary

A large theologically conservative congregation that broke away from The Episcopal Church will open its new sanctuary seven years after losing its original property in a lengthy legal battle with the mainline denomination.

The Falls Church Anglican, a church based in Falls Church, Virginia, that draws its existence back to the 18th century, held its first worship services at their new sanctuary on Sunday.

It marked the first time that the Anglican congregation had a sanctuary to worship in since 2012, when they had to relinquish their property to The Episcopal Church.
