Hurricane Dorian has left over 70,000 people homeless in the Bahamas and the death toll has risen to 44, though eyewitnesses suspect it will reach the hundreds. More than half of all homes on the Abaco Islands and Grand Bahama have either been destroyed or sustained extensive damage.

Bahamas Prime Minister Hubert Minnis described destruction as “one of the greatest national crises in our country’s history.”

Some 600 humanitarian aid flights have been going into Abaco each day but only a few vehicles on the island were left usable from the hurricane to transport supplies.

Samaritan’s Purse set up an emergency field hospital and has delivered more than 30 tons of relief items so far. Other groups on the ground include Convoy of Hope, which has provided 3,000 pounds of supplies and 1,500 meals.

— Worship leader details long journey in overcoming season of unbelief

Justin Kintzel is a Dove-nominated singer who is opening up about an “incredibly dark season of doubt” he experienced in his life.

That season inspired his new single, called “In All This We Know.”

For years, Kintzel struggled with anger toward God and had an identity crisis after he was let go as worship leader at Liberty University. He became an agnostic but as he was trying to let go of God, God wouldn’t let go of him, he said.

The Holy Spirit one day convicted him, or rather “smacked” him in the head with what he called a “spiritual 2x4.” From then on, he delved into the Bible and saw the Gospel “in a brand new light.”

“It was like the scales fell off my eyes,” he said.

Today, he leads worship with his wife at a church in Colorado.

— Pastors face questions after selling church property, buying $1M lakefront home

A husband and wife team of pastors from Eden Prairie, Minnesota, are facing questions after selling their longtime church to developers then buying a million dollar luxury lakefront home.

According to ABC 5, Bill and Sharon Predovich, senior pastors of the Resurrection Life Church and World Ministry Center, bought the home the same day they received $1 million from a developer who was buying the church’s land last September.

After selling the church property, Sharon Predovich said the church was repositioning itself as micro churches — where small groups of congregants meet in homes. The church’s last day in their building was on July 28.

— Pro-life necklaces rival Selena Gomez’s abortion jewelry

After singer Selena Gomez was seen on television wearing a “1973” necklace that celebrated abortion rights, a pro-life fashion brand championed by activist Abby Johnson launched a new line of “1972” necklaces.

1972 commemorates the last year that the unborn in the U.S. enjoyed a culture of life. It was in 1973 that the U.S. Supreme Court legalized abortion in Roe v. Wade. Since then, tens of millions of babies have been aborted.

The pro-life necklaces are available at col1972.com.
