In CNET's review, it is said that when the user toggles the vehicle into the Sport Plus mode, it goes for a more aggressive drivetrain and adaptive suspension settings, which immediately the gives more life to the engine. The only downsides to the Sports Plus mode, though, is that it makes the ride a lot bumpier when driving over ditches and potholes, and it makes steering a bit heavier.

Gearbox shifts are also said to be swift in both manual and full automatic modes.

There are new improvements to the interiors as well. As per MotorTrend, compared to the previous X3 models, the new one has a better and more sophisticated interior. It boasts of richer colors and premium materials, as well as digital hardware in the dashboard and switchgear that has taken cues from BMW's more expensive offerings.

A 10-inch display screen is featured on the dashboard, which can be controlled by the user using voice, touch, gesture, or the usual iDrive controller.

The 2018 X3 M40i goes on sale on Nov. 11.
