4 Who Brutally Beat Driver Arrested for 'Senseless Vigilante Attack'; Detroit Victim in Coma (VIDEO)
Four people who brutally beat driver Steve Utash in Detroit have been arrested so far, with two of the arrests occurring Saturday and another two arrested Monday. Utash was driving his white truck through Detroit last week when he hit a 10-year-old boy who stepped off the curb. When the 54-year-old got out to help, a mob viciously beat him.
The two men arrested Monday have not been named, but are reported to be ages 30 and 24, according to WXYZ.com. The other two suspects are 17-year-old Bruce Edward Wimbush, Jr., who faces assault charges, and an unnamed 16-year-old who has prior truancy records.
"The facts of this case are unbelievably tragic," Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said in a press release. Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan and City Council President Brenda Jones also denounced the violence, calling it a "senseless vigilante style attack" in a joint statement.

Utash's potentially fatal mistake came last week Wednesday when he hit a young boy who walked into the street. The 54-year-old stopped and got out of his truck to help the youth up, but a mob of up to 12 people descended on him and beat him "with their fists and feet," Worthy said.
Utash was knocked unconscious by his attackers and struggling to survive in the hospital. He has no health insurance and remains in a medically-induced coma, but his family is attempting to raise funds through a GoFundMe page, which has collected $136,000 so far.
