The 49ers will be the favorites for today's game, although it would take a brave man to write off the Ravens this year after they have pulled out a number of surprises, including their fantastic wins over the Denver Broncos and the New England Patriots last month in the postseason.

Meanwhile, the 49ers have been one of the favorites to make the Super Bowl all season long, and they have lived up to their billing well.

The 49ers won the NFC West division with a record of 11-4-1 and have since laid out their credentials to win the Super Bowl this season by beating the Green Bay Packers 45-31, and the Atlanta Falcons 28-24.

Baltimore meanwhile finished the regular season 10-6, just about enough to claim the AFC North division title.

The Ravens have had a longer route to the Super Bowl game in the postseason, but have come through every test thrown up at them; defeating the Indianapolis Colts 24-9, the Denver Broncos 38-35, and most recently successfully took down the highly favored New England Patriots 28-13.

Meanwhile, Colin Kaepernick will be the central figure in the 49ers line up. He has gone 136 from 218 for 1,814 and 10 touchdowns.

Receiver-wise Torrey Smith will be the target man for Flacco, and he has scored 8 touchdowns from just 49 catches and 855 yards. On the 49ers side Michael Crabtree has gone 1,105 from 85 catches for 9 touchdowns.
