The three adult victims in the incident were also young, and were all believed to be in their early 20s.

The seven victims were killed and another man injured when their van was hit by a trailer that broke away from a truck as the vehicles were traveling on Route 13 around 6 p.m. local time on Wednesday in Truxton.

The Coroner has spoken to The Associated Press, which has reported that the four children killed in the tragic accident were in fact from two different families.

Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims, and are said to be contacting family before making any public statements or identifications.

Authorities have described that the trailer was filled with crushed cars, when it suddenly became disconnected from the lorry that was transporting it. It came apart and then smashed into the minivan carrying the seven victims.
