Actress Amy Smart Speaks Up in Defense of Husband Carter Oosterhouse Amid Sexual Misconduct Allegations Against the Latter

Carter Oosterhouse's wife, Amy Smart, has spoken out in defense of her husband amid sexual misconduct accusations.

It looks like actress Amy Smart is standing by her husband's side after he was earlier accused of sexual misconduct by a former co-worker. On Saturday, the 41-year-old took to social media to share an earnest message saying, "We are in a climate right now where it's so wonderful and needed to have women coming forward to break their silence; it is vital and important for female equality. Period. A lot of the stories are horrific and need to be brought to light."

However, even with her own acknowledgment of the #MeToo movement involving people coming out with their own sexual harassment stories, Smart also thinks that the allegations made against her husband have been taken a bit too far.

It should be remembered that a former make-up artist of Carter Oosterhouse's home improvement show "Carter Can," Kailey Kaminsky, had recently come out claiming she had been coerced into performing sexual favors by the reality star himself. According to Kaminsky, she had believed that her employment would be jeopardized if she did not acquiesce to Oosterhouse's "request" and that she a total of about 15 to 16 encounters with the former carpenter.

Oosterhouse, for his part, did not deny being involved with Kaminsky but also responded by claiming their liaisons were "consensual" and that the make-up artist herself initiated their encounters the first time around. The 41-year-old television personality's wife also backs this claim up, explaining on her Instagram post: "When you are in a CONSENSUAL RELATIONSHIP, then you need to take responsibility for engaging in that and not play victim. IF a relationship does not work out the way you want it to, then sorry, but that is the risk you take when getting intimate with another person. There are plenty of relationships I wish I could go back and make different choices about, but it was on me to decide."

According to the "Just Friends" actress, Kaminsky's allegations are cruel and damaging to her husband whom she describes as the kindest and most loving non-aggressive man she had ever met.
