Android 4.4.2 Update Rolls Out to Galaxy S4 Mini LTE Black Edition

The Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is now rolling out to the Galaxy S4 mini LTE Black Edition.

The smartphone is only available in certain markets and the update is now being issued to the Belgian version by provider Proximus. Users can download and install it manually by using Samsung KIES.

There is no word on when the regular S4 Mini will get the update, however, it should be sometime in the near future.

The Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is also rolling for Verizon's Galaxy Note 2.

The carrier is one of the first to issue this update for the 2012 phablet. It is also available for the Sprint and international versions.

It brings some bug fixes, performance enhancements and UI improvements. It also comes with KNOX 2.0, which gives Enterprise users great functionality and security.

The new versions of KNOX comes with Dual Persona, TIMA Real Time Kernel Protection, Trust-Zone based ODE, Universal MDM Client, Samsung Enterprise Gateway and Knox Generic VPN Framework.

Android 4.4.2 for the Verizon Note 2 also brings support for the Galaxy Gear 2 and updates for a slew of apps including Google Drive, Photos, Play Newsstand and Emergency Alerts App Icon. S Suggest and Samsung music were removed. Users can access the update either by notification or going through the Settings menu.

The update started rolling out for Sprint Galaxy Note 2 users a few weeks back.

It brought some different changes to the device's software including cloud printing, NFC tap-to-pay support, all white icons in the status bar, full screen album art, and the ability to put a camera shortcut on the lockscreen. The smartphone's performance is improved and there is also various stability fixes with it.
