Apple iPhone X Update: Tech Giant Urges Upgrade Program Members to Begin Pre-Order Process Early; Japanese Company Sues Them For Infringement

Apple has invited their fans to the Upgrade Program to get a head start of the pre-order race.

The giant tech company has been one of the big players who reigns in the smartphone market. Recently, they held a keynote event, which revealed their most anticipated flagship, the iPhone X. Considering that it features an overhauled design and some exciting technology, fans are patiently waiting for their chance to pre-order the smartphone.

According to 9to5Mac, Apple's urging does not necessarily guarantee that they would have their iPhone X on the date of the smartphone's launch. Instead, it is intended for those in the Upgrade Program to go ahead and make sure that their current iPhone models are eligible for the program. It can take quite a while to determine eligibility so getting a head start on the upgrade program will cut some time out of the pre-order and transaction process to be held on Oct. 27.

For those in the iPhone Upgrade Program, the pre-order is well underway as it started on Oct. 23. Given that there is no fear of long lines and a scarcity in stocks, fans can always begin the process anytime before the actual pre-order day for everyone else on Oct. 27.

In the meantime, recent reports have revealed that Apple does not have a good start, as they have been sued by Japanese company Emonster k.k. over the Animoji feature of the iPhone X. According to the lawsuit, Emonster's chief executive officer Enrique Bonansea launched an app named Animoji back in 2014, and he has obtained a registered trademark for the name. Thus, Apple seems to be infringing on the company's legal property. Apple has yet to respond to comment, but more information is expected in the coming weeks.

The iPhone X is slotted for release on Nov. 3.
