'Arrow' Season 3: October 2014 Premiere Will See New Villain Wreak Havoc

The American television series based on the DC Comics character Green Arrow, will be having its third season premiered on Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. EST. The premiere date will be in line with the previous season's airing of the first episode of the respective season.

The finale of the TV series' season 2 saw the main protagonist, Oliver Queen, also known as Arrow, transforms from a hooded vigilante into a fully fledged hero.

"In the aftermath of this victory, Season 3 opens with Arrow now a hero to the citizens of Starling. Crime is down, people feel safer, and Captain Lance even calls off the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Basking in his success, Oliver believes he can finally have a private life and asks Felicity out on a date," the season 3 synopsis reads.

The third season promises of a reappering villain that will certainly keep the Arrow busy with full-time crime fighting. The latter part of the synopsis reveals the Arrow unable to live his life as Oliver Queen because of the new villain.

"A deadly villain reappers in Starling, forcing Oliver to realize that he can never be Oliver Queen – not as long as the city needs The Arrow," the latter part of the synopsis reads.

This "deadly villain" hasn't been revealed yet but there are already speculations that it will be Count Vertigo. In the original comic line, Count Vertigo is a fallen aristocrat from Eastern Europe who regains his power through organized crime. It is highly likely that the series is aiming for the same plotline.
