For Austria this will be their opening match of their campaign, and they will have no time to settle in, facing the overwhelming favorites to win the group.

Austria have not qualified for the World Cup since France 1998. Even a draw in this match would be considered a fantastic result for them, and if they can take anything from this game they will go into their second match against Kazakhstan next month with confidence.

Austria will be looking to striker Marc Janko to upset the Germans. At age 29 Janko is one of the veterans of the Austrian team and has scored 11 goals in his 27 caps. He is 6 foot 6 inches, and has the potential to cause the German defense all sorts of trouble if Austria can get high balls and crosses into him.
