Baby Brutally Beaten, Thrown Off Balcony by 10-Year-Old in China After Elevator Doors Close Abruptly Separating Mom and Child

A baby left in an elevator was brutally beaten and murdered by a 10-year-old girl in Chongqing, China recently. The child's mother had stepped off the lift momentarily when the schoolgirl picked up her child and threw him off a balcony, resulting in his death from fatal injuries a short time afterwards.

The baby's name was Yuanyuan, and he was accompanied by his mother and a small green bike, according to Daily Mail. When they reached their floor, the mother struggled to get the bike out while the 10-year-old girl stepped onto the elevator and picked up the 2-year-old. The mother waited outside the elevator doors expectantly, but as they closed, she realized the girl wasn't giving her child back.

The CCTV footage captured the horrific violence that took place.

Grainy footage showed the girl slamming the toddler into the ground and repeatedly kicking and stomping on him. At the 25th floor the woman dragged the baby out, throwing him roughly to the ground.

From there, the girl allegedly threw Yuanyuan either off a balcony or out a window, evidence suggests. Broken sticks and bushes outside pointed to the child being thrown outside, and blood stains on the concrete floor below still remain.

The 10-year-old girl told the mother later that the baby was taken by a boy, but then changed her story and said he was taken by another girl, according to ECNS.cn.

Yuanyuan was taken to a local hospital, Shanghaiist.com reported, but he later succumbed to his injuries.

In the report of the incident, the mother can be seen opening weeping. She said that she had simply left her baby in the elevator by mistake.
