Coming into this match up Barcelona top the table with two wins and a draw from their three games so far. That leaves them on seven points, two clear of the Italians who have managed a win and two draws to date.

That means a win for Milan tonight would see them leapfrog Barcelona into first place and put them in a commanding position to win the group with two matches remaining.

Meanwhile, Barcelona will be hoping to gain all three points tonight, which should secure their place in the knock out stages. A win would put them five points clear of Milan with just two games remaining.

A draw would probably favor Barcelona more than Milan, as it would still leave Barca clear at the top of the table, but Milan would be under pressure from Scottish champs Celtic, who potentially could move to six points today if they can defeat Ajax.

These two sides have already met in the group stages once, and Milan did fantastically well to deny the Spanish team extensive goal-scoring opportunities. The Italian team worked in typical Italian fashion and held a rock solid defense against the Catalan side in the first game.

Ultimately it has been Milan's results in other games that has seen them drop behind Barcelona so far, and that means if they want to win the group, realistically they probably have to win tonight.
