'Battlefield Hardline' Betrayal DLC Equips Players with Swords

"Battlefield Hardline" is about to get close and personal, thanks to the introduction of swords in the upcoming DLC. The final expansion pack for the title drops the swords and more in March.

In addition to the swords, developer Visceral Games announced over at the game's official site that the "Battlefield Hardline" Betrayal DLC will bring six other weapons and two new vehicles. However, the developer has not shared details on what these new weapons and vehicles might be.

The Betrayal DLC will also include four new maps. These are called Alcatraz, Cemetery, Chinatown (above), and Thin Ice.

The expansion pack will also bring a slew of customizations for primary weapons and uniforms with the Gun Bench Super Feature. There will also be new assignments. Legendary weapon camos will also be up for grabs.

The "Battlefield Hardline" Betrayal DLC is available through the Season Pass. However, interested players can also purchase the add-on content separately.

Furthermore, a base game update will also be releasing together with the DLC. The update will bring another set of 11 weapons and new server presets. Once installed, players will also receive a weapon license voucher in every Gold Battlepack. No other details of the upcoming update have been revealed so far. However, Visceral Games will release the official patch notes when the update releases.

March marks the end of the season pass for "Battlefield Hardline." For "Battlefield" fans, however, it marks the start of roughly a year of waiting for the upcoming sequel to the franchise. Publisher Electronic Arts announced during its third quarter earnings call last month that a new "Battlefield" title, along with a "Titanfall" sequel and "Mass Effect: Andromeda," will be launching in 2017. The new game is currently under development by EA and is rumored to be called "Battlefield 5: Apocalypse."
