Ben Affleck's Birthday Today, Actor Turns 40

Actor, writer, and director Ben Affleck celebrates his 40th birthday today, Aug. 15, in Los Angeles, California.

The birthday plans are still uncertain for the actor, who is married to actress Jennifer Garner and father to three children, Violet, 6, Seraphina, 3, and Samuel, 7 months.

Regardless of Affleck's birthday plans, media outlets agree that he will surely be showered with love from his large family, which he has been photographed spending more time with in the recent months. Recently he has taken a family trip to Puerto Rico and attended a summer pool party at fellow actor and friend Matt Damon's house.

Garner recently swooned over her husband on the "Late Show With David Letterman," in which Letterman questioned the health of Affleck, as he is turning 40 years old today.

"Are you asking about Ben Affleck's testosterone level, really?" the actress, 40, asked Letterman.

"Have you seen my husband lately? He is walking testosterone!" she exclaimed.

Affleck has, in the past year, been focusing more on his growing family. According to wife Garner, Affleck hopes to keep adding to the brood.

"The fact that Ben wants another is true,[but] I am not anticipating having any more kids!" Garner recently told Us Weekly.

Although the American heartthrob has been out of the silver screen's spotlight lately, reports indicate that he will soon be appearing in two films, including "Runner, Runner, Argo" and "To the Wonder," both of which will be featured at the Toronto Film Festival.

Additionally, rumors indicate that Affleck will be asked to direct the highly anticipated superhero film, "Justice League."

Affleck, a Boston, Mass. native and avid Red Sox fan, has previously starred in the 1998 films "Good Will Hunting" and "Armageddon." He is most well known in the directing circuit for his film, "The Town."
