Bethenny Frankel Confirms Separation, Split Recommended By Therapist?

Bethenny Frankel recently confirmed that she is separating from her husband of two years Jason Hoppy and a new report claims that split was recommended by her therapist.

The 42-year-old talk show host, who shares a two-year-old daughter with Hoppy, previously denied reports of a divorce in June however in recent days before Christmas Fankel opened up about their heartbreaking decision to separate.

"It brings me great sadness to say that Jason and I are separating. This was an extremely difficult decision that as a woman and a mother, I have to accept as the best choice for our family," Frankel said in a statement obtained by RadarOnline.com

"We have love and respect for one another and will continue to amicably co-parent our daughter[Brynn], who is, and will always remain our first priority. This is an immensely painful and heartbreaking time for us," she added.

The couple, who is often seen bickering on their hit Bravo TV reality show "Bethenny Ever After," has reportedly been at odds regarding their marriage for several months. Frankel's therapist reportedly suggested that the pair begin a trial separation in order to salvage their marriage.

"Bethenny and Jason have been having the same arguments for a very long time, she thinks he is too critical of her, and he thinks his wife is can be a control freak. The one thing they both agree on is that their 2-year-old daughter Bryn will not be adversely affected by this break. Bethenny and Bryn will remain in the apartment and Jason can spend as much time as he wants with her. Jason is a devoted dad, and Bethenny recognizes that," a source told Radar.

"Bethenny was adamantly against formally separating from Jason because she viewed it as giving up on the marriage, and she just isn't ready to do that. It was her therapist that recommended the trial separation to give the couple some breathing room, and experience life without each other on a daily basis," the source explained.

Frankel, who has been accused of placing her successful career before her marriage, previously dismissed claims made by her estranged mother Bernadette Birk.

Birk, who has only spoken to her daughter twice in the last 10 years due to on-going feuds, previously badmouthed Frankel's marriage by insisting that the union would not last.

"It's all karma! This was dead in the water even before it began," Birk once said. "[Hoppy's] problem is he's too nice, and she'll grab another nice one. He is replaceable. Nice is boring, and Bethenny gets bored with nice [she] doesn't have any respect for marriage."
