Bethenny Frankel's divorce from Jason Hoppy could potentially turn ugly as new reports claim that her estranged husband Jason Hoppy is requesting primary child custody of the pair's 2-year-old daughter Bryn.
Frankel, who announced her separation from Hoppy just two days before Christmas, filed divorce papers just weeks later. In her filing, the wealthy talk show host requested primary custody of Bryn among other things. Hoppy has made the same requests, according to
Like Frankel, 42, Hoppy has requested that the Skinny Girl Entrepreneur cover all of his and Bryn's medical and dental insurance costs.
The "Bethenny Ever After" star requested life insurance that would make her and Bryn beneficiaries, and Hoppy, 40, has requested the same in his response to her divorce filing.
Hoppy, who works as a real estate agent, is said to be still living in the $5 million marital home that he shared with Frankel, although she has since moved out. He reportedly wants "exclusive use and occupancy of the marital residence."
Lastly Hoppy has also asked that Frankel, who is said to be worth between $25 million and $55 million, pay for any fees (particularly attorney and accountant fees) incurred during the divorce proceedings.
Frankel, who insisted on resolving the divorce settlement "amicably," will undoubtedly be frustrated with Hoppy's requests.
"This is a preliminary step to move the process forward. She wants to work this out privately and amicably. All Bethenny cares about is that it works out the best way possible for Bryn," a source had previously told TMZ.
Fortunately for the Skinny Girl founder, a judge is likely to enforce the couple's prenuptial agreement, which was allegedly signed five days before their 2010 wedding nuptials.
The divorce bombshell follows months of speculation that the pair was facing marital woes. Frankel previously denied that they were having problems, however, shortly before Christmas she confessed that they had separated.
"It brings me great sadness to say that Jason and I are separating," Frankel, 42, had said in a public statement Dec. 23. "This was an extremely difficult decision that as a woman and a mother, I have to accept as the best choice for our family."
